KUALA LUMPUR – Kota Raja hopeful Mohamad Sabu said he was wrongfully accused of losing his temper following harassment by supporters from opposing parties.
In a statement posted on his Facebook, he explained that he was walking past a group of Barisan Nasional (BN) supporters with his proposer and seconder when the group began provoking the trio.
He said he tried to ignore their taunts and proceeded to where the Pakatan Harapan (PH) supporters had gathered.
However, when he walked past the BN group again to meet the returning officer, the taunting continued, and some even hurled abuses.
“I was verbally abused by the BN supporters. I only responded with a single phrase, (Datuk Seri) Najib (Razak) is in jail, (Datin Seri) Rosmah (Mansor) will go to jail too,” he added.
Mohamad then clarified that his response was not directed to anyone in particular, but a general statement.
“Slander is a common thing for BN folks. They claim I was hurling abuse at some women, but the loudest voices I heard were actually from some men at the back,” he said. – The Vibes, November 5, 2022
