KUALA LUMPUR – The Health Ministry today announced 1,315 new Covid-19 infections, pushing the national tally to 63,176.
There are another 1,110 recoveries, taking the total to 51,314.
Four new fatalities were recorded, involving a Malaysian and three foreigners, taking the death toll to 354.
Sabah has the biggest share of fresh infections at 476, followed by Selangor (266), Kuala Lumpur (191) and Perak (167).
There are still 118 coronavirus patients in intensive care, with 43 requiring respiratory assistance.
Of the country’s 11,508 active cases, 4,214 are in the Teratai cluster linked to Top Glove Corporation Bhd workers.
The surge in cases in Perak sees another low-risk quarantine centre being opened in Kinta district today, with a capacity of 160 beds.
There are also six new Covid-19 clusters – four in Sabah, and one each in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
“This takes the total number of active clusters being monitored to 180. Of the total, 44 clusters reported an increased number of cases,” said the ministry in a statement. – The Vibes, November 28, 2020
