TUARAN – It is Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s (GRS) turn to tell Umno to take action against its men.

GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor wants Umno to take action against Noortaip Suhaili, who is contesting as an independent in Tuaran.

Hajiji said he had spoken to Tuaran Umno chief Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan and his deputy Datuk Jasnih Daya about the matter.

Similarly, in other areas, he said action must be taken against any party member who goes against the party’s wishes.

“We must take stern action because we don’t want the people to be confused,” he said at the meet-the-people session at the Pusat Kebudayaan Rumpun Bajau Sama Sabah in Kg Lok Batik here today.

This comes after Sabah BN chairman and Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin called on Hajiji to take action against Datuk Rubin Balang, who is the Tenom Bersatu chief.

Hajiji is the Sabah Bersatu chairman.

Bung Moktar claimed that Rubin was the mastermind behind his son Riduan Rubin’s move to join KDM and contest against Umno in Tenom.

With Hajiji were Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai (who is GRS’ candidate for Tuaran), Tuaran Bersatu deputy chief Datuk Kassim Razali (who is also chief political secretary to the chief minister), and Star secretary-general, Datuk Edward Linggu. – The Vibes, November 12, 2022
