PAPAR – Gabungan Rakyat Sabah chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor will not act against Bersatu’s Datuk Rubin Balang until he gets a full report on the latter’s alleged role in his son’s political manoeuvrings.

The Bersatu Tenom chief, is accused of being the mastermind behind his son Riduan Rubin joining GRS-friendly Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat yesterday.

Sabah BN chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin had claimed this goes against the GRS-BN electoral pact and accused Rubin of trying to get BN Tenom candidate Jamawi Jaafar to lose the seat.

“We will see if he (Rubin) was directly involved. I need to get the report first. Although Rubin and his son can be seen in the picture, he was not campaigning or anything like that.

“We have to be fair to all but if indeed he was supporting this openly, we will take action,” said Hajiji when met at SMK Saint Joseph here today.

According to Hajiji, the party would be able to take action against Rubin as he is still a Bersatu member, but not Riduan.

He said Riduan has resigned from Bersatu as Tenom youth chief and Bersatu cannot stop him from contesting.

Earlier, Hajiji officiated the additional SMK St Joseph school building and announced that the state had provided RM600,000 to complete the new structure. – The Vibes, November 12, 2022
