KOTA BELUD – Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) wants Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to act against Bersatu man Datuk Rubin Balang for allegedly violating the GRS-BN electoral pact.

Rubin is believed to be the mastermind behind the Tenom candidacy of his son Riduan Rubin, who is going against BN candidate Jamawi Jaafar.

Riduan has also reportedly joined Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) today, after contesting as an independent candidate previously.

Sabah BN chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said the action goes against the pact and does not reflect the friendship between GRS and BN.

“Disciplinary action must be taken against both individuals, including sacking them from any positions in government-linked companies.

“Their actions have given a negative impression of the GRS-BN cooperation, and have broken the support of BN candidate Jamawi Jaafar in Tenom,” he said after attending a meet-the-people session in Taun Gusi here today.

Ridaun’s decision to join KDM was part of a plan to gain the support of KDM leader Datuk Peter Anthony, who had his candidacy rejected on nomination day.

Tenom will see a five-cornered fight between Pakatan Harapan’s Noorita Sual (DAP), Riduan Rubin, independent Peggy Chaw Zhi Thing, BN’s Jamawi Jaafar, and Warisan’s Ukim Buandi. – The Vibes, November 11, 2022
