KANGAR – It is time to give Pakatan Harapan (PH) a chance to lead Perlis as Barisan Nasional (BN), which has been administering the state for over 60, years has become complacent, with their leaders often squabbling among each other, said a state PKR leader.

Engineer Noor Amin Ahmad, who is defending the Kangar parliament seat for PH, said it is time for voters to give the coalition an opportunity to serve them after BN brought the state to a standstill owing to their internal bickering.

He said the focus should be on steering the country back on track following the Covid-19 pandemic and also bracing for a possible economic recession next year.

“But BN is more focused on who gets what position. Enough of mundane politics. We should be focusing on developing Perlis and saving our future.”

Amin said that PH has more than enough qualified candidates to govern Perlis, which comprises three parliamentary and 15 state seats.

Amin was met with Gan Ay Ling, who is defending her Indera Kayangan state seat after a PKR rally where the keynote speaker was PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim last night.

Meanwhile, former Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Zahidi Zainul Abidin said he is focusing more on winning the Titi Tinggi state seat while also trying to weather the challenges from BN and Perikatan Nasional in the Padang Besar parliamentary seat.

Zahidi said that it is an uphill task to win the parliamentary seat as both coalitions’ machinery are too strong, while he is only running on an independent ticket.

“I was betrayed by my own leaders, and I do not want my voters to be exploited.”

Zahidi promised to help the electorate if he is given a chance to serve both in the state at Titi Tinggi and in Parliament through Padang Besar – The Vibes, November 18, 2022.
