KUALA LUMPUR – Perak Amanah chairman Datuk Asmuni Awi has confirmed speculation that the coalition will be working together with Barisan Nasional (BN) to form a government in the state.

In a video shared by the Media Pakatan Harapan WhatsApp group, the Amanah representative said he hopes the unity government will bring stability and prosperity for Perak.

“As I said earlier and how it has gone viral on social media, Perak Amanah and PH will form a new government here with Barisan Nasional.

“This means that a PH-BN administration will be formed in the state. I hope this government will be stable for the public and can successfully bring about prosperity,” said Asmuni.

Previously, a high-level source in the PH coalition told The Vibes and Getaran that the two coalitions are no longer at each other’s throats and are looking to work together for the sake of the people.

“Yes, it’s true. I can confirm it,” said the source from DAP who did not wish to be named.

Earlier it was also reported that BN’s Kota Tampan assemblyman and caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad was meeting with Sultan Nazrin Shah at Istana Kinta in Ipoh.

He was seeking to convince the ruler that he has the majority and will form a BN-PH administration.

Should Sultan Nazrin be convinced of the majority, the swearing-in ceremony is expected to take place today at Istana Iskandariah at around 5pm.

In the recently concluded election, PH had won 24 seats while BN took home only nine seats and Perikatan Nasional had taken 26 seats.

With their collaboration, the new coalition will command 33 total state seats. – The Vibes, November 21, 2022
