Saudi crown prince, Arab leaders congratulate Anwar on becoming PM

KUALA LUMPUR – Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman extends his congratulations to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, following the latter’s appointment as Malaysia’s prime minister. 

In his congratulatory note, Prince Mohammed also sends his best wishes to Anwar and Malaysians. 

“His Royal Highness the crown prince expressed his sincere congratulations and best wishes of success to the Malaysian prime minister, and further progress and prosperity to the brotherly people of Malaysia.”

Meanwhile, the Bahrain News Agency reported that Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain Prince Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa expressed his congratulations to Anwar, as well as wishing Malaysians continued progress and prosperity.

The Qatar News Agency also reported the congratulatory messages of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Qatar Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz Al Thani to Anwar.

Yemen Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed also conveyed his congratulatory message to Anwar, as well as praying for Malaysia’s progress.

He also expressed his hope that the fraternal relationship between Yemen and Malaysia will remain intact and that the bilateral relationship between the two countries in various fields will be strengthened for the sake of common interests.

Anwar was sworn in and took his oath of office on Thursday, making him the nation’s 10th prime minister. – The Vibes, November 26, 2022
