AMPANG – A 28-year-old male waiter died after an explosion in front of an eatery in Jalan Pandan Indah 12/1 here last night.

According to Ampang Jaya police chief Mohamad Farouk Eshak, the explosion happened purportedly after the victim touched a small parcel that was left on his car bonnet outside his workplace.

He added that the victim sustained injuries on his body and arm.

“Members of the public had rushed him to Ampang Hospital, but he was pronounced dead at 9.45pm.”

At 2.45am today, Forensic Unit and Bomb Disposal Unit officers are still at the scene collecting evidence.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. – The Vibes, December 30, 2022
