KOTA KINABALU – A Brunei national has gone missing while attending Hobbycon, a convention featuring costumes, games, and art held here last month with three of his friends.

Acting Kota Kinabalu district police chief Kalsom Idris said that Ak Muhammad Abdullah Pg Ali, 29, did not return to Brunei as he was supposed to on December 20, last year.

Hobbycon 2022 was held at Sabah International Convention Centre on December 17 and 18.

The missing person’s older brother lodged a police report on December 25.

“Around 1pm on December 24, last year, the brother and their family were waiting for Ak Muhamad’s return as he had told them that he would return home on December 20 via the Menumbok-Labuan-Brunei ferry.

“However, up until the time the report was lodged, the missing person was not found. 

“Efforts were made to reach the missing person via phone and WhatsApp, but he could not be reached,” she said.

Ak Muhammad was last seen on December 12 at a hobby shop at 1Borneo Hypermall while dealing with gaming trading cards with a store owner.
