MIRI – Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) said it wishes to see total fairness in government policies and decisions for Malaysian people of all races.

Its information chief Adam Yii today said his party is confident that positive strides are being taken towards this end by the national unity government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In his Chinese New Year message today, the Miri mayor called on the people to support moves towards racial equality.

“We in SUPP are glad to note that Anwar has pledged to do away with policies and practices that are racially unfair.

“Our party gives total support towards this direction,” said the Pujut assemblyman.

“We want to see people of all races and religions get equal emphasis.”

Yii said his party gives the unity government its solid backing to put into practice policies that benefit all levels of society.

He added that the party looks forward to a better year that will see more being done to improve the economy of Sarawak and Malaysia.

SUPP also called on everyone to continue enhancing the multiracial and multireligious harmony in the vast state.

Yii expressed hope that all celebrating Chinese New Year will spend quality time with their loved ones and strengthen the unity and peace in their families, neighbourhoods, and workplaces. – The Vibes, January 21, 2023
