IPOH – “See you at Sri Satria,” were the last words by ousted Perak menteri besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, fondly known as Peja, in his 6pm press conference at the old chief minister residence here today.

After those words, Faizal sniggered to himself as he left the press conference.

He is also Chenderiang assemblyman and Tambun MP.

It was unclear whether he was joking with the media or if he was serious.

Sri Satria is the official residence of the deputy prime minister in Putrajaya, though the post does not currently exist in the Muhyiddin cabinet, which has four senior ministers instead.

There have been rumours and speculation before this that Faizal might be up for a federal position in Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s cabinet.

Faizal yesterday lost the confidence vote in the Perak state assembly.

He resigned at 3pm today after a second meeting with state ruler Sultan Nazrin Shah. – The Vibes, December 5, 2020
