KOTA KINABALU – Sabahans should anticipate some good news when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim visits the state tomorrow.

Paramount leader (Huguan Siou) of the Kadazan, Dusun, Murut and Rungus community, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan said he is sure that during his visit, Anwar will share his plans to develop Sabah, especially when the trip is taking place after the tabling of Budget 2023.

“The federal government now realises that Sabah is left behind in the development of various sectors such as infrastructure, construction, tourism, as well as education, social harmony, and public order.

“Also, (there are) matters relating to Malaysia Agreement 1963 that must be solved,” Kitingan said in a statement today.

He said that as Sabahans hope for solutions from the federal government, they also have high hopes for the state government to work with the federal government to ensure the long-awaited development materialises in Sabah.

Kitingan added that he hopes Anwar’s visit will boost local leaders’ determination in developing the region.

The prime minister is expected to meet with state leaders at Sabah International Convention Centre tomorrow.

Earlier, Kitingan commented that Budget 2023 had shown a new approach by the government, one that would bring winds of change to Sabah and Sarawak. – The Vibes, February 27, 2023
