ALOR STAR – Police arrested nine men and seized 135,760ℓ of diesel, valued at RM291,884 and believed to be misappropriated, in a raid at the Bukit Kayu Hitam Industrial Area yesterday.

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Azman Mohd Yusof said those arrested in the 1pm raid comprised three Malaysians and six Thai nationals, who are in their 20s and 50s.

“Also seized in the raid were seven lorries, with six of them bearing Thai registration number plates, 10 units of skid tanks, three units of oil pump machines, eight units of nozzle pumps, two units of cylinder tanks, and THB192,902 (RM25,329) in cash,” he said in a statement today. 

He said the case had been handed over to the ministry’s Kedah office for further action. – Bernama, April 29, 2023
