KUALA LUMPUR – The Meteorological Department ( MetMalaysia) has issued a level-one heatwave alert for Padang Terap in Kedah and Jempol in Negri Sembilan.

According to the weather update uploaded on MetMalaysia’s Facebook page, the two areas recorded yellow alert level heatwaves as of 4.20pm today.

The yellow alert level refers to daily temperatures continually hovering between 35-37°C for at least three consecutive days.

Meanwhile, other areas in the peninsula as well as Sabah and Sarawak recorded daily maximum temperatures of less than 35°C, which is at the blue level. – Bernama, May 1, 2023
