SEREMBAN – The Negri Sembilan government is prepared to work with the Melaka government to renew their memorandum of understanding on treated water supplies to Melaka, which is slated to end December 31.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said its renewal would however depend on the Melaka state government.
“We already have an agreement with them, so if there's a (water) problem in Melaka, we will allow the sale of water. However, this will depend on Melaka. If they want water from us, we are prepared to supply it if we have excess water.”
He said this to reporters after chairing a state executive council meeting at Wisma Negeri here today.
On June 19 last year, Melaka received bulk water supplies of 12 million litres per day from Negri Sembilan through the memorandum. – Bernama, December 9, 2020
