GEORGE TOWN – Penang’s 14th state legislative term will be dissolved tomorrow.

This is after Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow obtained consent from the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak at his Seri Mutiara residence here this morning.

Penang joins Kedah, Kelantan and Selangor to have their respective assemblies dissolved to pave the way for the 15th state elections, likely to be held in August.

Terengganu and Negri Sembilan’s assemblies have yet to dissolve but are expected to follow suit soon.

Chow will hold a rally this afternoon to prepare the ruling Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition for what many pundits see as a tough fight for Penang’s 40-member state assembly. – The Vibes, June 27, 2023
