KUALA LUMPUR – Police are investigating PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang for his July 8 Facebook post on “3R” (rulers, religion and race) issues.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department deputy director Datuk G.S. Suresh Kumar confirmed the investigation in a statement this morning.
He said Hadi’s post had alleged that DAP wanted to reinterpret Islam in the federal constitution according to British colonialists and the liberal practices of western countries.
Hadi will be investigated under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, Suresh added.
“The Royal Malaysian Police confirm that PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang will be investigated for his statement that is said to touch on the 3R issues,” his statement read.
Hadi’s Facebook post said that DAP is continuing the plan of British colonisers to destroy Malay supremacy, and that the Pakatan Harapan component was doing this with the help of Malays who “had forgotten their roots”.
In August last year, police said the Marang MP was under investigation for saying that non-Malays were the “roots of corruption”, but there has been no update to this case since. – The Vibes, July 10, 2023
