MIRI – A man found dead in a farm near Sibu town yesterday had eight different gunshot wounds on his body, Sibu police said.

TV Sarawak in its news this morning quoted district top cop Zulkipli Suhaili as confirming that the deceased, aged 46, is a local Chinese man.

“His body had eight bullet wounds,” Zulkipli said.

“Initial investigations showed that he was shot dead by someone from outside the house while he was locking up his house gate.

“We have classified the death as a murder case under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” he added.

The victim had two friends with him at that time, who sustained injuries from the incident.

“They (the duo) are now in the hospital, and their condition is stable,” Zulkipli said.

He urged the public not to speculate and called on them to let police handle the case.

The shooting incident happened in a farm outside Sibu town during the pre-dawn hours on August 1.
