KOTA KINABALU – Another MP from Sabah has denied being one of the 10 Umno lawmakers said to have signed a statutory declaration backing opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister.

Kimanis MP Datuk Mohamad Alamin’s statement on the matter comes after a similar one issued by Kinabatangan’s Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.

“As a lawyer, I understand the effects and intention of the SD. Therefore, I wish to deny signing any SD with the intention of supporting Anwar as prime minister.

“I am considering several legal avenues against the media and others who implicated me.”

Yesterday, Bung Moktar, who is also Sabah Umno chief, refuted claims that he signed such an SD.

Astro Awani, quoting a source, had named the 10 Umno MPs as Datuk Seri Najib Razak (Pekan), Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (Bagan Datuk), Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (Pasir Salak), Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan (Pontian), Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz (Padang Rengas), Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub (Machang), Mohd Shahar Abdullah (Paya Besar) and Datuk Mohd Nizar Zakaria (Parit), as well as Mohamad and Bung Moktar. – The Vibes, December 14, 2020
