KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia today logged 1,371 fresh Covid-19 cases and four fatalities, said Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The health director-general, in his daily briefing, said this pushes the national coronavirus tally to 84,846, and the death toll to 419.

Of the new deaths, two occurred in Sabah, and one each in Labuan and Ipoh.

The victim in Ipoh was a 50-year-old woman, whose body was brought to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.

She had a history of diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia.

The state with the highest number of cases is Selangor with 523, followed by Sabah (283) and Negri Sembilan (260).

The country recorded another 1,204 recoveries, taking the total to 70,597.

Only one of the new cases was imported.

Meanwhile, there are 114 Covid-19 patients in intensive care, with 62 on ventilators.

Dr Noor Hisham said another two clusters – Solar Ria in Selangor and Senu Setia in Kepong here – have been detected.
