PETALING JAYA – As the saying goes, there’s a first time for everything.

Television host and professional emcee Fedtri Yahya recently shared a snippet of a script for a wedding where he would be the emcee.

He remarked: “Wow, something new for me.”

In the snippet he shared, at one point of the wedding reception, the emcee went on to “invite the bride’s beloved cat Lily to enter the hall carrying the ring”.

The lights would be turned off at the time, with a spotlight following the cat.

His post on Twitter garnered much attention, having been retweeted 1,599 times at the time of writing.

With many anticipating the cat’s inclusion in the wedding, Fedtri updated his post last night at the reception of Dr Rahul and Dr Ayuni, with a selfie captioned “Where is Lily?”

He said that the bride and groom are both orthopaedic surgeons.

With many curious to see how Lily looked as the ring bearer, Fedtri finally shared the much-anticipated video.

Lily, a long-haired white cat, looked particularly elegant and well-behaved as she entered the hall in a remote-controlled toy car.

She sat in the vehicle as it moved and remained in it as it travelled from the entrance to the stage where the bride and groom waited on the dais.

Some of the comments remarked how they were amazed that Lily did not run away.

One TikTok user said it was a good thing they did not employ an Oyen (ginger cat) for the job as he would have made off with the ring.

Another on Twitter said: “If the ring bearer is Oyen, they’d need a back-up plan.

From a photo of Lily, the white cat appears to have heterochromia or the odd-eye condition where her eyes are of different colours. This adds to her elegant appearance as one eye is blue. – The Vibes, September 10, 2023
