PETALING JAYA – Tan Sri Annuar Musa and Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim – two former Umno strongmen – are now members of the PAS central committee for the 2023-2025 term.

This was announced in a statement by party secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassam following the party’s committee meeting yesterday.

He said the appointments were proposed and approved according to the party’s constitution.

Apart from the duo, the other seven central committee members are Ustaz Nasrudin Hassan, Ustaz Mohd Yusni Mat Piah, Wan Rohimi Wan Daud, Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki, Datuk Muhammad Zawawi Salleh, Datuk Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Mohd Mazri Yahya.

“The positions of assistant secretary-general 1, 2 and 3 are held by Khairul Faizi Ahmad Kamil, Khairul Fahmi Matsom, and Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman,” said Takiyuddin.

Shahidan, who is Arau MP, was formerly an Umno strongman.

He was dropped as a Barisan Nasional candidate in the last general election, prompting him to contest under Perikatan Nasional.

He was then sacked from Umno along with a few other party leaders who went rogue last November.

Annuar, the former Ketereh Umno division head and former Ketereh MP, was also sacked from the party and joined PAS in June.

He is also the chairman of Muafakat Nasional. – The Vibes, October 31, 2023
