PATRIOT takes a very serious stance in the wake of talks about overthrowing a democratically elected unity government.

Patriot warns any such individuals and groups against undermining the unity government that was sanctioned by none other than our constitutional monarch.

The numerous talks of such a treachery to even break the very government instituted by our revered Conference of Rulers is not only a dangerous precedent, but will riddle the nation’s future with instability.

When talks take place under cover to topple Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s unity government, the security of the nation is undoubtedly put under extreme duress.

Patriot promises it will go the distance to put a stop to this dangerous trend of overthrowing legitimate governments.

As an opposition bloc, the role of politicians is to use Parliament adequately and in a civil manner to check and balance governance.

Opposition MPs are supposed to add value to the running of the country.

The least they should do is not bastardise the palace’s recognition of Anwar as the 10th prime minister and his unity government charged with rebuilding the nation.

The plotters’ five-year term in opposition should on the contrary be to earn meritorious admiration from the citizens, who will take all such achievements or contributions to nationhood into context at the ballot box.

Patriot, therefore, demands that the individuals and groups plotting to overthrow the government immediately stop their diabolic agendas. Patriot will not tolerate anyone out to damage democracy and the constitutional monarchy’s honour.

In this regard, Patriot has already galvanised a task force that is taking stringent measures including reaching out to the palace, if need be, to save the present government from the fangs of selfish, desperate people.

We veterans who stood to guard and protect our nation with our lives and limbs for over six decades from being robbed of our democracy and constitutional monarchy will not allow another Sheraton Move.

Patriot has concluded discussions with like-minded groups and we are ready to strike should certain politicians stubbornly continue their plotting.

We warn the evil, unpatriotic individuals and groups that overthrowing a government or even destabilising the current unity government's leadership is treason.

Hence, we call upon the prime minister to command the ship and take immediate measures to arrest such treacherous plots that we are hearing about much these days. – The Vibes, April 28, 2023
