JOHOR – Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) defender, Aidil Zafuan Abdul Radzak still considers Selangor a difficult team to play as both teams meet in the Super League tonight.

Aidil said that although JDT is leading the pack at the moment, it does not mean that it is going to be a ‘walk in the park’ for champions this season as he expects tough challenges from the rest of the pack, especially from the Red Giants.

With that in mind, Aidil and his teammates believe that it is important to continue collecting full points from their matches to further strengthen their pole position in the league.

“As a player, I really think every match is important for us, not only for tonight.

“For me, we should not take our legs off the accelerator even though we are far in terms of points from the rest. Anything can happen and we should not get comfortable with our current position, and give our best in every match.

“The important thing is that we should never underestimate the strength of our opponents and should only focus on our game plan for our matches, Aidil explained.

Meanwhile, Selangor winger Syahmi Safari remains positive that nothing is impossible for Selangor and that they are capable of surprising any team any day.

He believes that Selangor can still be a force to be reckon with when they take on JDT even without their key players Brendan Gan who is suspended and goalkeeper Khairul Azhan who is tying the knot with his fiancée. The 22-year old lad believes that Selangor coach B. Sathianathan will field capable replacements for match against JDT.

“If we look at the social media, everyone is talking about our match with JDT and, in fact, many are predicting that Selangor will lose the tie but at the same time they are some who think otherwise.

“But as players, we are always ready to do our best and play according to the coach’s plan and would not be dampened by the pressure coming from the social media.

“I believe that we can fight together and play as a unit to ensure victory tonight,” he added. – Football Tribe, September 19, 2020
