PUCHONG – Malaysia is placing its hopes on the Orange Esports and Todak teams to clinch the title of the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup 2022 (MSC) from June 11 to 19.
Youth and sports minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu is confident with the capability of the teams as Malaysia is hosting the championship for the first time.
“I know they are capable as I have been monitoring their progress from afar since I became youth and sports minister.
“Playing on home turf and the current fine form of our boys give me the confidence that they would emerge champions this time,” he told reporters at the launch of MSC 2022 here today.
Also present at the event were deputy youth and sports minister, Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker and ESports Integrated (ESI) chief executive officer Ahmed Faris Amir.
Earlier, the developer of popular mobile esports Mobile Legends, Moonton Games with the cooperation of the ministry launched the MSC championship which entered its fifth edition with the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) as the competition venue.
Twelve teams representing seven countries will be vying in the tournament with the preliminary round starting on June 11 before the top two teams meet in the final round on June 19. – Bernama, June 4, 2022
