KUALA LUMPUR – “No high heels” was the immediate reaction of one of the recipients of the Covid-19 vaccine at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium vaccination centre (PPV) here.
“I would say, don’t wear your heels; bring your joggers or something and you should be able to get from one place to another,” said Mabel Wong, who received her first dose of the coronavirus shot yesterday.
The 34-year-old educator said it was “quite a bit of a walk” from the parking lot to the vaccination booth at the newly opened mega PPV.
“One of the things that came to mind was that this area is quite big.
“I guess that’s why they are getting people aged 40 and below to come here because it’s quite a bit of a walk.”
Despite being its first day of operations, Wong said it was all smooth sailing at the centre, with staff and volunteers on duty being helpful in ushering in vaccine recipients.
“It was a lot quicker than expected. I thought it would take me an hour, but I was out in about half an hour’s time.
“I thought that the whole process was really efficient. Everyone knew what they were doing and, even before I had time to think it through, I had already gotten the jab.”
In conjunction with the commencement of Phase 3 of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme in the Klang Valley, Bukit Jalil National Stadium opened its doors as a PPV yesterday.
The Bukit Jalil National Stadium PPV is currently the largest in the country, and has the capacity to administer up to 10,000 shots a day, focusing on inoculating those aged 18 and above. – The Vibes, June 22, 2021
