POLICE are tracking two men suspected of robbing an elderly woman in her 80s in Kampung Baru Selat Pagar, Lenggong, early yesterday morning.

Gerik District Police Chief, Superintendent Abdul Samad Othman, said that in the incident at about 5.10 am, the suspects broke into the victim’s house by breaking the door.

One of the suspects pushed and kicked the victim, as well as threatened her with an iron rod, before fleeing with several belongings belonging to the woman.

"Initial investigations found that the suspect fled using a dark-coloured car with a registration number believed to be fake.

"Further investigations are underway to identify the suspects and track them down," he said.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for committing armed robbery.

Abdul Samad asked the public with information related to the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation by contacting any nearby police station.
