PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Tuesday launched a book authored by Chinese entrepreneur, economist and scholar Dr Yan Lijin, in conjunction with his business meetings with Chinese investors and industry leaders.
The Chinese-language publication, titled ‘Malaysia, Truly Asia: A Country That Captivates the Heart’, features a foreword written by Anwar himself.
In the foreword, Anwar praised Dr Yan’s “active and vital role in fostering relations between China and countries across the world, including Malaysia.”
“He has not only been an ally to Malaysia but also a true friend,” said the Prime Minister.
Anwar highlighted that Dr Yan’s understanding and appreciation of Malaysia’s values, culture and development vision reflected his deep affection for the country.
“The book offers readers a vivid portrayal of Malaysia as a dynamic and vibrant nation — rich in biodiversity, culturally diverse, and one that strikes a balance between tradition and modernity,” said Anwar.
He added that Dr Yan’s unique insights “provide a fresh perspective for those interested in investing, studying, or exploring Malaysia,” while also emphasising Malaysia’s role in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and its position as a hub for economic growth, cultural integration and green industry in Southeast Asia.
The book also touches on Malaysia’s MADANI vision, and explores the country’s economic and social development, cultural exchanges, and future prospects under the BRI.
Anwar concluded that deepening exchanges between Malaysia and China would allow both nations to unlock greater opportunities and tackle future challenges together. - Sept 2, 2025
