WASHINGTON – Four police officers were shot and one died yesterday after confronting someone barricaded in a house in a small town in west Texas, said news reports.
The shooting erupted in Levelland, which is about 50km west of the city of Lubbock, reported a local newspaper.
It is not immediately clear what triggered the stand-off with an armed person barricaded inside a house in Levelland, said the Lubbock Avalanche Journal.
The paper said two of the wounded officers are in critical condition. – AFP, July 16, 2021
