MANILA – A 6.0-magnitude earthquake shook Surigao Del Sur province in southern Philippines today, said the national Institute of Seismology and Volcanology.
It said the offshore quake, which occurred at 6.37am local time, struck at a depth of 33km, 29km southeast of the town of San Agustin.
The institute said the quake will trigger aftershocks, and that damage is expected.
