KOTA BARU – The Social Security Organisation (Socso) has appointed Kolej Poly-Tech Mara (KPTM) Kota Baru as the country’s first MyFutureJobs satellite centre for institutes of higher learning.
Socso chief executive Datuk Seri Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said the establishment of the satellite centre is a pilot project to create more similar centres in institutes of higher learning not only in Kelantan, but in other states as well.
“The MyFutureJobs satellite centre is an initiative of Socso as a public employment service provider to increase the community’s access to job opportunities available throughout the country.
“MyFuturejobs is the sole window for the National Employment Services Portal which is developed to help students and graduates to be better prepared to enter the job market, and to make jobseekers in the local community candidates sought after by employers to fill vacancies.”
He said this in his virtual speech during the launch of the MyFutureJobs satellite centre at Kota Baru KPTM today.
Also present were Kelantan Socso director Nora Yaacob and Kota Baru KPTM director Raja Izzudin Raja Ahmad.
Azman added that MyFutureJobs is driven by artificial intelligence, which is able to make accurate job matches based on the academic qualifications, experience, skills and competencies of jobseekers required by employers.
“In 2020, MyFutureJobs recorded 47,901 employers offering 745,304 vacancies to more than 500,000 registered jobseekers and successfully provided job placements for 160,554 jobseekers through its portal,” he said.
He said as of October 4, there were 275,565 job opportunities available for more than 686,000 registered jobseekers.
Meanwhile, Raja Izzuddin said the MyFutureJobs satellite centre at Kota Baru KPTM serves as a one-stop centre not only for students of the institution, but also the local community.
