THE Centre for Medical Education and Training (CMET) was officially launched this morning at UCSI Hospital Springhill by Her Excellency Tunku Ampuan Besar Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Aishah Rohani Binti Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud.

UCSI Healthcare Group Chairman Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah described the launching as a significant milestone in the advancement of medical education and professional training in Malaysia.

“CMET is positioned as a leading hub for the development of future healthcare professionals, offering structured and hands-on training programmes that integrate simulation-based learning, real-world clinical exposure, and innovative teaching methodologies.”

“The centre brings together experienced clinicians from both local and international backgrounds, fostering a collaborative learning environment focused on clinical excellence, evidence-based practice, and continuous professional development,” said the former Health Director General.

Dr Noor Hisham who is also the Adjunct Professor at UCSI University, said the establishment of CMET reflects UCSI Hospital’s commitment to advancing medical education and strengthening the healthcare workforce.

He added that the centre aims to equip medical students, specialists, and allied health professionals with the competencies required to navigate an increasingly complex and dynamic healthcare landscape.

“CMET’s educational framework underscores a synergistic approach to healthcare development, combining continuous medical education, evidence generation, technological integration, and workforce empowerment.”

“This approach is further anchored in a strong commitment to preventive and holistic care, supported by a governance structure designed to ensure quality, accountability, and long-term sustainability,” he said. – February 4, 2026
