VETERAN hip hop artist Joe Flizzow is teaming up with developer SOLS 24/7 and their SOLS Edu English learning app to inspire students to master the English language. The app launched on October 26.
According to Joe, he and Raj Ridvan Singh (a.k.a. Teacher Raj) – the founder of SOLS 24/7 – have the same goal in helping young people reach their full potential and this collaboration is the best way to contribute to the community.
"There's a saying in the hip-hop world, 'Real recognise real'. I recognise the efforts that SOLS Edu has made over the last 21 years involving 500,000 students in seven countries," Joe said.
In addition to teaching the basics of English, the program also provides free access and organised learning methods.
The SOLS Edu app uses audio and video tutorials, picture-word matching, fill in the blank and other exercises, to make the learning process more interactive.
“Personally, I always encourage friends and colleagues to learn English so that no one misses the opportunity to improve their skills.
"And, it's great when my crew manages to drive their careers to a higher level because they've mastered English. I'm overjoyed," Joe added.
Joe for his part will teach 28 topics covering the basics of English and when all these sessions are successfully completed, a certificate will be issued.
Upon completion, students will be better prepared in mastery of grammar and vocabulary to sit for selected Cambridge English Test papers.
"This is an amazing app with an easier learning method. Interested students just need to subscribe to the SOLS Edu app and I will guide them," he said.
SOLS Edu teaches English using the students' mother tongue. Their methods have been recognised by many authorities on education, among them the Unesco Award for Educational Innovation in 2016.
According to Teacher Raj, his dream is to help as many young people as possible to get a quality education so they get a job that will help pull them out of poverty.
