THE Terry Fox Run returns this year for its 42nd anniversary to mark the fight against cancer and will see people from all walks of life rally around cancer research. This year's event will be attended by Darrell Fox, the younger brother of Terry Fox, for whom the Terry Fox Foundation and The Terry Fox Research Institute (TFRI) are named.
This year’s run will be held at Kepong Metropolitan Park, Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, December 18 at 7.30am. The general public is encouraged to participate in this non-competitive 3.3 km family oriented fun run. Participants can either run, jog, walk, skate or even dance your way towards the finish line.
Launching this year’s run at the Four Seasons Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, High Commissioner for Canada Wayne Robson said, “Terry was a young Canadian who set out to raise funds for cancer research and who represented the best of Canada in his courage, humility and determination. Although Terry could not finish his Marathon of Hope, he has inspired millions across the world to take up the fight against cancer. I am pleased to invite Malaysians to be part of that cause today with the launch of the Terry Fox Run here in Kuala Lumpur.”

Participation is free and everyone is welcome to join. A complimentary t-shirt will be provided for donations above RM35. For companies who want to have their own teams, they can consider donating a minimum of RM1,200 for up to 30 souvenir t-shirts that have been personalised with team/company names printed on the left sleeve.
All proceeds from the t-shirt donations will be channeled to support cancer research initiatives.
The T-shirts are available in different sizes for both children (sizes 2 & 4) and adults (sizes S, M, L, XL and 2XL) from the end of October onwards.
