A CLERK is at her wit’s end after her brand-new car, a Perodua Bezza 1.3X, broke down just eight hours after she collected it.
Nagakanni Subramaniam, who spoke of her plight on Facebook, said it has now been two months since the incident and she has been paying RM537 monthly for the loan.
“I appeal to my friends to help share my plight so that I can get some justice.
“I bought the car from Harapan Terang Motor Sdn Bhd on October 17, last year and eight hours later, at 7.40pm, the car could not start.
“The next day, my car was towed to the Segamat Perodua Service Centre,” she said.
She said she asked Perodua to replace her car with a new one, but was asked to wait for a decision from their headquarters which would take up to a month.
On November 9, she said she received a call from a customer sales executive who informed her that her engine broke down due to the presence of a foreign object, like sugar.
The executive told her that no such material was ever used by Perodua.
“The thing is I did not have any food in the car and surely did not tamper with the engine,” she said.
Nagakanni said on November 15, she was informed that she would have to apply for a new loan for a new car.
“I told the executive that I could only apply for a new loan after my old one is settled as I am still paying for it.
“On December 4, a salesperson from Harapan Terang called and asked me for documents to process a second loan. I rejected it as my earlier loan was not settled,” she said.
On December 8, she said she was informed that Perodua had yet to get any approval to replace her car with a new one.
“It is already January and I have yet to receive any formal reply from Perodua and I am still paying for my loan.
“I hope Perodua can settle this matter soon. I am only fighting for my rights,” she said.
Nagakanni had also lodged two police reports on October 18 and 19 over the matter.
Her post has since gone viral on social media and she is awaiting a response from Perodua. – The Vibes, January 3, 2024
