A VIDEO highlighting the importance for parents to ensure their children have their contact numbers and school name for emergencies is gaining traction on social media.

Posted by the “Kongsi Viral” account on Instagram, the video is about a Standard 6 student who was left behind by his school van after a trip to a mosque in Rawang.

According to the narrator in the video, a Foodpanda rider noticed the boy walking under the hot sun in Rawang with his bag.

The boy revealed that he had missed his ride home following an event at the mosque. He had gone to the toilet at the time.

The boy did not know his school name or his parent’s contact numbers.

The Foodpanda rider then took the boy to a nearby restaurant and the people there also tried to help the boy.

They could not let the boy walk from Rawang to his home, which he said was in Gombak.

They even checked his bag but could not find the name of his school or his parents.

According to the narrator, they finally managed to find the boy’s mother via Facebook and contacted her through social media platforms.

“We advise parents to include their contact numbers in their children’s bags or even get them to memorise it.

“In this case, if not for the caring Foodpanda rider, something unfortunate could have happened to the boy,” stressed the narrator.

The post has since received widespread attention and netizens have expressed gratitude to the Foodpanda rider and also those at the restaurant for helping the boy. – The Vibes, January 15, 2024
