A MALAY man recently shared a heartwarming story of the true Malaysian spirit where a Chinese 'ah moi' and Indian boy stopped to help him.
The story began when his motorcycle ran out of petrol when he was on the way to Ban Pecah from Changkat Jering in Perak.
Norul Ridzuan Zakaria Din said the nearest petrol station was about 6 km away and left with no choice, he began pushing his motorcycle to the station which was at Simpang Empat Semanggol.
"While I was pushing my motorcycle along the road, several other motorcyclists passed but none of them stopped to assist.
"I then noticed an 'ah moi' with a small boy on a motorcycle from the opposite direction.
"I never expected any help from her but to my surprise, she made a U-turn and stopped beside me," he wrote on the Suzuki TXR150 Jerung/Panther/Gamma Facebook page.
Norul said the 'ah moi' asked him if he was heading to the petrol station and then offered to buy him petrol.
"At first I said no as I did not want to trouble her and the little boy who was her brother.
"However, she insisted and told me to wait for her to return as she rode off to the petrol station," he said.
About two minutes later, he noticed an Indian boy on a motorcycle also in the opposite direction.
"I did not expect him to help, but like the girl earlier, he also made a U-turn and stopped beside me.
"He offered to push my motorcycle with me on board and this time I just accepted the offer.
"While on the way, the girl returned with the petrol in a container and the Indian boy left," he said.
He said the 'ah moi' waited for him to pour in the petrol and get his motorcycle started before she left.
"I paid her for the petrol and thanked her and her little brother for all their help.
"While there are still differences among the races in the country, there is still strong unity as demonstrated by the Chinese girl and Indian boy who helped me," added Norul. - The Vibes, February 24, 2024
