A MAN who recorded himself driving over 200 km/h along the Pan Borneo Highway in Sarawak not only gained attention of social media users but also the police after his video went viral.

In a post on the Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) Facebook, state police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata said they received a report about the viral video on Monday.

"The report stated that a man was driving at high speed along the Pan Borneo Highway from Saratok to Betong.

"We managed to trace the owner of the 4WD pick-up and on Wednesday we detained him when he came to the Kuching police station.

"The man admitted to what he did and police issued him with five summonses for various traffic violations," he said.

He said the 4WD was also detained under Section 60(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for further action. - The Vibes, April 6, 2024
