Seberang Perai police have found the dead bodies of two women in a locked SUV parked in Taman Tembikai, Bukit Mertajam. – Royal Malaysia Police logo, July 11, 2024.

THE bodies of two women reported missing by their families on Friday were discovered inside a car parked near a residential area in Taman Tembikai in Bukit Mertajam yesterday.

Seberang Perai police chief Helmi Aris said the women, aged 25 and 30, were known to be best friends.

“They were reported missing on July 5 and were found lying dead inside the car,” he said.

He also said no evidence of any criminal element was found near the scene.

Both bodies have since been sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for a post-mortem.

The bodies were discovered in a locked SUV by passers-by at around 5.30pm.

Reports said the women had probably been dead for over five days as their bodies were bloated.

The police have not revealed their names. – July 11, 2024.
