BUTTERWORTH – A 54-year-old disabled Korean pastor was today charged at the magistrates’ court with two counts of outraging the modesty of two individuals at an apartment here.

Jee Jon-hoon was ordered to surrender his passport to the court.

Magistrate M. Kalaiarasi fixed January 18 for case mention and set RM5,000 bail for each charge with two sureties.

The magistrate ordered the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya to arrange for international sign language interpreters to explain to the accused the charges and to record the plea.

No plea was recorded today.

Jee allegedly groped, kissed and fondled private parts of a man, then 21, at the second floor of Sri Cemerlang Apartment in Jalan Kg Paya, Butterworth, between 11pm and 1am in July 2017.

He was also alleged to have hugged, kissed and fondled the private parts of another man, then 24, at the same place at about 12.20am in October 2013.

Both victims are disabled.

Deputy public prosecutor Azlin Zeti Zainal Abidin prosecuted and counsel G. Shaugam represented Jee.

It was reported on November 24 that police had detained a Korean priest to facilitate investigations into several molest cases involving persons with disabilities in Penang.

The suspect was detained at a church in the state on November 23 following reports by several victims. – The Vibes, December 18, 2020
