THREE former senior officers of 9th Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, are expected to be released on bail today, reported Astro AWANI.
According to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner, Tan Sri Azam Baki, all three of them, including the one with the title Datuk, are to be released after their remand period ended today.
However, the case is still ongoing, and witnesses are being called to assist with the investigation.
"Of the four who were detained the other day, one has already been released on Sunday, while the remaining three will be released this afternoon.
"The investigation is still ongoing and we (will) be calling many more witnesses..." give us time to conduct the investigation," he said when contacted by Astro AWANI.
He said there are many things that need to be 'secured' (stored) first, and for now, he cannot provide any details about the ongoing investigation.
He said he would announce the results after the investigation into the case is completed.
Asked about the allegations that cash amounting to over RM100 million was discovered, Azam refused any further comment.
Four individuals, including two with the title of Datuk who are Ismail Sabri's former senior officers are being investigated under Section 16(a) of the MACC Act 2009 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLATFPUAA).
Last Friday, the MACC remanded the four officers after a remand order was issued by Magistrate Irza Zulaikha Rohanuddin at the Putrajaya Court.
