POLICE are actively hunting 11 suspects still at large following a violent altercation at a nightclub in Bintulu that led to the death of a 28-year-old local man in the early hours of April 27.
Bintulu District Police Chief, Superintendent Nixon Joshua Ali (pic), confirmed that nine individuals—eight men and one woman aged between their 20s and 40s—have already been arrested and remanded to assist with investigations.
"Investigations have identified 11 other suspects who remain at large and are believed to be involved in the same incident,” Nixon said in a statement on Saturday night.
“Police will not compromise and remain committed to tracking down all those involved.”
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Nixon also warned the public against spreading false information or speculating on the case and urged anyone with relevant details to contact investigating officer ASP Mohammad Hashim Kasman at 014-6817837 or the Bintulu District Police Operations Room at 086-318304.
The incident occurred around 1am in front of a nightclub, where a fight broke out, leaving the victim severely injured and covered in blood. He was rushed to a private hospital before being transferred to Bintulu General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. - May 4, 2025
