"I will come to the best decision after considering all factors," said Izzah, May 7, 2025

PKR VICE-president Nurul Izzah Anwar said she respects and appreciates the views from the grassroots for her to run for the position of deputy president in the upcoming party elections.

"KEADILAN is now going through an important phase. Therefore, all decisions that will be taken must consider not only the need to unite and strengthen the bond between fellow comrades, but also to bring new life and meaningful change to ensure this party continues to be relevant and trusted by all.

“I will make the best decision possible to balance between consensus, friendship, change, and meaningful reforms for all members," she said.

She said she will strive to build a better future together with all KEADILAN members in good and bad times.

Izzah has since gained strong support to contest the deputy presidency with the latest coming from PKR Wanita and Youth.

Izzah was appointed as a PKR vice-president in 2022 after opting not to contest the central leadership elections that year.

She went on to lose her Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat in the 2022 general election to PAS’s Fawwaz Jan, who won with a comfortable majority of 5,272. - May 7, 2025
