PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has confirmed that the subject of dissolving the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (DUN) was not raised during his courtesy visit to Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Musa Aman, on Sunday.

Speaking to reporters at Istana Seri Kinabalu, Anwar clarified that the meeting was centred on development issues and efforts to strengthen cooperation between the federal and state governments.

“There was no discussion on the dissolution of the State Assembly. That decision lies entirely with the Head of State and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor,” Anwar said.

The talks covered a wide range of matters, including oil-related sectors, and incorporated feedback from Sabah’s leadership to address key concerns and identify areas for improvement.

This marks Anwar’s first official audience with Tun Musa Aman since the latter’s appointment as Sabah’s Governor.

Speculation over a possible early dissolution of the assembly had been rife ahead of the meeting, but Anwar’s remarks dispel any immediate political manoeuvring, placing the focus instead on development priorities and federal-state collaboration. - May 11, 2025
