Embrace the spirit of Wesak Day for a united, harmonious nation, says PM

THE Prime Minister called on all Malaysians to embrace the spirit of Wesak Day for a united and harmonious nation.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Wesak Day is an important reminder, particularly in upholding universal values that encompass compassion, harmony and peace.

"In Malaysia, the celebration of Wesak invites and stirs the conscience of society to uphold human dignity and embody sincere respect among all people amid diversity," he said in a Facebook post.

Anwar urged all Malaysians to embrace the spirit of Wesak Day while preserving the nation's inclusive traditions and cultures.

Buddhists around the world  celebrate Wesak Day today in commemoration of the birth, enlightenment and passing of Lord Buddha. – May 12, 2025
