POLICE have arrested a football coach after he was suspected of molesting two teenage girls in separate incidents in Kota Tinggi.

Kota Tinggi Police Chief Yusof Othman said his department received two reports from the victims, each aged 13, on Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to him, both victims claimed to have been molested by a suspect in his 30s at four different locations.

“Following the reports received, police arrested a local man last Wednesday and a urine test found the suspect to be free from any drug abuse.

“However, a review of his past records found that he had been convicted of a criminal offence under Section 376 of the Penal Code before,” he said in a statement.

According to him, the suspect was remanded for six days from June 12 to 17 to assist in investigations under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

He said members of the public with information regarding the incident were asked to contact the Kota Tinggi District Police Headquarters Operations Room at 07-8837222 or the nearest police station. – June 15, 2025
