A MAN weighing 200 kilograms (kg) was brought down from his home using special equipment by a team of firefighters after he suffered shortness of breath last night.

Skudai Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Saiful Bahri Safar, said 10 personnel and three fire engines were deployed to help bring down the 46-year-old victim from the second floor of the Taman Mutiara Rini Apartment.

“We received a call regarding the incident at 10.49 pm. Upon arriving at the location, personnel found an obese man weighing 200kg in a residential premises on the second floor.

“The victim was brought down using a sheet and carpet to cover the victim’s body.

“The victim was successfully brought down and later sent to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in Johor Bahru for treatment,” he said. - June 19, 2025
