PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar reminded party members that the struggle for reforms is a long and winding road and can only be achieved with the right attitude and strong principles.

"Reforms cannot be forgotten and overlooked the moment a party gains political power. It remains the foundation of the party and all leaders and members must work hard to ensure these reforms are carried out.

"I know it is not easy and may take a long time ... but we cannot give up and become complacent.

"Otherwise, PKR will just whither and become like other political parties," she said.

Izzah said this when launching the i-Lead training model at the Penang PKR headquarters.

Penang is the first state to adopt the i-Leadership module, which is aimed at training younger party members on the right form of leadership skills.

"PKR leaders must be bold enough to tell the unpopular truth if the party intends to serve the people well," she stressed.

On the i-Leadership module, she said a memorandum of understanding will be signed with module trainers to ensure the training format and module are all coordinated in all states.

She said the i-LEAD serves as a vessel for continuous political education focusing on party history, values and objectives and is ained at producing principled leaders for both the party and other institutions.

“I want to make sure that the party survives and thrives with the right level and type of leaders for the next 50 to 100 years,” she said.

Training sessions will occur on weekends with a maximum of 25 participants per session conducted by experienced trainers.

i-LEAD represents PKR’s first institute specifically focusing on structured leadership development as a national movement catalyst. – August 31, 2025
