SHAH Alam police have denied viral claims of a kidnapping attempt involving a male student, confirming instead that the teenager had concocted the story to avoid attending school.
Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, said investigations revealed that the 13-year-old had lodged a false report alleging an attempted abduction while walking to school earlier that morning.
“The teenager informed his 37-year-old father, who then came to the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD) to file a report,” said Mohd Iqbal.
“However, during questioning, the student eventually admitted the report was entirely untrue.”
According to police, the boy invented the story simply because he did not want to go to school after his shoes were soiled with cat faeces.
Following the confession, police decided not to pursue further investigation against the student, given his age and current schooling status. However, both the teenager and his father were issued a stern warning.
The father has since withdrawn the police report.
“Police advise the public against making false reports, as it is a serious offence under Section 182 of the Penal Code. It carries a penalty of up to six months’ imprisonment, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both,” said Mohd Iqbal.- September 11, 2025
